1. Pastor’s Message
Hello Everyone!

Hope you’re having a great week so far. One of the greatest benefits of being believers is that we can go to God everyday!

The Psalmist shouts, “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Psalm 68:19

He bears our daily burdens. You know what that means? God wants to tap you on your shoulders and say, “My son/daughter, give me that. Let me take care of that for you. You don’t have to worry about that.”

It gets better. Moses reminded the Israelites: “What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? Deuteronomy 4:7

So go ahead and “roll your burdens away” off your chest…on to His.

Are you ready to do this…now?

Here we go:
  • Worry #1 (bring to mind): Off your chest…on to His.
  • Worry #2 (bring to mind): Off your chest…on to His.
  • Worry #3 (bring to mind): Off your chest…on to His.

If you’ve got more than three, repeat steps 1-3 until you’re done!

Don’t forget to trust Christ and thank Him for “bearing your burden.”

A few items of prayer and notification:

  • Will Thompson is our speaker this Sabbath. He will be speaking on the subject of ‘Heaven.’
  • Please pray as we work on getting our website active and useful for you this week. Take a moment to check it out.
  • There are visitors in church almost every Sabbath. Even if you’re not the “greeter” for the week, would you please show your love through a smile, a hand shake, and a welcome? It would be great for our visitors to experience the warmth and love of this church family.
  • We want to thank Herb Dunn and his Graphics class students for doing our church bulletins starting this week until school ends this year.
  • If you have any information you’d like to share in this e-Newsletter please send it to Marilyn Eggers through reply mail.

Many blessings to all,
Samuel Kaligithi

2. Share Your Ministry Here!
Many of you are involved in one or more of the church ministries. Please share your activities, challenges, requests, and announcements in this newsletter. Even a very brief report of a simple paragraph would be wonderful. Longer reports will be posted on the web with an introduction and link to it in the newsletter. So all types of reports, requests, and announcements are welcome including pictures! Please send your messages to Marilyn Eggers at marilyne@mbachurch.org.

3. Church Budget Update
To make the ministry concept work we all need to prayerfully do our part. If every working adult paid an average of $55 per month, we would make the budget. Of course, some will pay more--thank you!
Doing so will help to cover for those who cannot give the “average” amount. No matter what you give, God will bless all gifts large and small for He looks at our hearts.

Monthly Combined Church Budget (01/01/03 to 01/21/03)
Goal Per Month $4,004.46
Amount Received to Date $1,133.45

Computer & Projector Project (01/21/3)
Goal To Reach $10,000.00
Amount Received to Date $6,002.16

Church Roof Project
Goal To Reach $35,000.oo
Amount Received to Date $10,574.52

Mexico Mission 2003 (01/21/3)
Goal to Reach don’t know
Amount Received to Date $2,471.90

4. New Domain Name for Church Web Site
We now have our own domain name for the MBA Church web site, which will make it easier to remember. Check it out: http://www.mbachurch.org

Many thanks to Gary Wilkerson who put up our original web site. He is our MBA Church web ministry pioneer! Just this week he passed the web “keys” over to Kent Cabreira to further develop the site and to carry on the web ministry. Thanks, Kent!

Let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions for expanding the web communication and ministry for our church.

5. Volunteers! Volunteers!
Money isn’t the only thing that is needed for MBA Church ministries. People are needed, too! If you are interested in any of the following ministries, please contact Pastor Sam Kaligithi <samwena@earthlink.net>.

  • One or two Kindergarten ministry leaders (working with our little people in Sabbath School and other times)
  • Communication ministry secretary (someone who can keep any and all important information circulating among us)
  • Anyone interested in leading small groups (particularly young adult and early teen)
